
MFC Welcomes New Medical Advisory Board Members
MFC is proud to welcome Dr. Omolayo Famuyide and Dr. Sheila Wijayasinghe to its Medical Advisory Board—two nationally respected leaders whose expertise, advocacy and commitment to equitable, evidence-based care will meaningfully strengthen our work.
Dr. Omolayo Famuyide is a Family Physician and Women’s Health Specialist, Founder and Medical Director of The Layo Centre in Winnipeg, and a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. Recognized for her leadership in contraception, reproductive health, and menopause care, Dr. Famuyide brings a uniquely integrative perspective shaped by her background as both a pharmacist and physician. A sought-after educator, she also serves as a Board Member of the Canadian Menopause Society and is a nationally recognized advocate for women’s health.
Dr. Sheila Wijayasinghe is a nationally recognized Family Physician, health communicator, and patient advocate with over two decades of clinical experience. She is the Medical Director of Primary Care Outreach at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto, a Menopause Certified Family Physician practising at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, and widely known as the resident health expert on CTV’s The Social. Through her clinical leadership, media presence, writing and podcasting, Dr. Wijayasinghe empowers patients to navigate the healthcare system with confidence, clarity and compassion.
Together, Drs. Famuyide and Wijayasinghe bring deep clinical expertise, trusted public voices, and a shared commitment to advancing women’s health, health equity, and patient-centred care. MFC is honoured to have them join the Medical Advisory Board and look forward to the impact of their leadership.
